SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES

Greetings from UCLA!  We hope this email finds you well.  Please allow me to introduce myself; I am the new Student Affairs Office in the UCLA Writing Programs Office. 

This is a friendly reminder that the application deadline for our 2015 Summer Writer’s Workshop scholarship is Saturday, March 21st.  If you know of any students that you have in mind that could indeed benefit from this summer program and scholarship, please refer them to our website where they can apply directly online now.  Please follow the link to this year’s scholarship application, at http://www.wp.ucla.edu/index.php/component/rsform/form/3-ucla-writing-programs-high-school-fellowship-application.

DEADLINE REMINDERS

THERE are now 20 students listed for MT SAC applications.  I need each of you to print your application for me to put on file.  I want to see the following student's applications tomorrow (Tuesday, March 10th):

MARCH "TO DO" LIST FOR SENIORS



MARCH 

MARCH 1-10
  
  • IF I am attending ANY CSU school I MUST REGISTER for the EPT/ELM 
  • IF I am going to attend MT SAC I need to attend the Friday 12:30 meeting in Room 1023
  • IF I have been accepted to ANY college, I need to start looking at financial aid offers
 MARCH 11-20

  • Young Scholars:  Classes begin for Spring on March 30th;  add/drop 3/26-4/6 
  •  FALL Community College Applications completed through cccapply.org
  •  IF I am attending ANY Community College This Fall I must apply and take assessments before I can register for fall classes 
 DID I GET INTO MY COLLEGE?
College Acceptance Letters have started to come in.  Please do not despair QUITE YET!
  •  UC acceptance offers will not show up until mid-late March 
  • CSU offers normally have several rounds of offers--early, mid and late (March-April)
  • Private schools accept from January through June 
  • Community colleges accept through late July-early August

CAL GRANT/FAFSA STATUS  
Go to  "https://mygrantinfo.csac.ca.gov/logon.asp" and set up your account to see what your status will be.  Follow instructions or contact me for interpretation.  If you sent your grant information in via mail, waith 7-10 days to check your account.

Go to "fafsa.ed.gov" to print out your EFC information and make certain you have updated your answers if necessary.  Once you are accepted into a college, that college will send you information on how they will offer you financial aid.
